Business Wire
Rudolph and Sletten, Inc. announced today that it has been awarded
the preconstruction services contract for the proposed luxury
condominium project 9900 Wilshire positioned on Wilshire
Boulevard in Beverly Hills. The site is owned by Project Lotus LLC,
a joint venture between CPC Group, the Guernsey, UK-based property
development business owned by Christian Candy and Kaupthing HF, the
largest Icelandic bank. The site, situated in the heart of one of
the countrys most prestigious neighborhoods, will require detailed
logistics sequencing and preplanning to minimize the impact to the
community. In preparation for the new towers, Rudolph and Sletten
will also be responsible for moving a water pipe that feeds the
city of Santa Monica. This new pipe system has been ordered and is
currently in fabrication. The construction activities will commence
following its arrival. A great emphasis will be placed on
mitigating traffic, noise, and other environmental effects during
construction. The iconic project includes 235 luxurious and
environmentally responsible condominiums that will be constructed
within two residential towers overlooking the west entrance to
Beverly Hills on the site of the former Robinsons-May Department
store. The project will be built to achieve a Gold Leadership in
Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standard, one of the highest
recognitions from the U.S. Green Building Council. The complex is
being designed by world-renowned architects Richard Meier and
Partners. It won the American Institute of Architects Architectural
Design Award in 2007. Exclusive interior design company Candy &
Candy, Inc. has been appointed as development managers and will be
leading the interior design. The development is positioned within
one third of the eight-acre site and includes extensive private and
public gardens designed by Olin Partnership, internationally
acclaimed landscape architects. The two residential towers will
provide approximately 805,000 square feet of residential and 16,000
square feet of retail. The new residences will offer extensive
amenities appropriate to such a luxurious address including
concierge service, valet parking, and fitness spa facilities. The
project aims to consume 25% less energy, use 50% less water, and
create less greenhouse emissions than comparable residential
buildings. The 9900 Wilshire development represents a new paradigm
in quality for residential construction, said Rudolph and Sletten
Project Executive John McRitchie. We are fully engaged in
preplanning all aspects of the project to bring this award-winning
Richard Meier and Partners design to fruition. Our dedication to
safety and community during construction complements the 9900
Wilshire commitment to smoothly integrate into this vibrant and
historical area, McRitchie added. Rudolph and Slettens
leadership in quality management and implementation will ensure
that this project successfully represents the world-renowned
reputation of the Candy & Candy brand. The construction
quality of the condominiums will be exacting in its precision and
unique in its material selection. The faade of the buildings will
have large areas of specialized glazing, terracotta panels, and
finished concrete. The visionary interior design developed by Candy
& Candy transcends traditional luxury to create a lifestyle
environment of the utmost sophistication. About Rudolph and
