RESTON, Va., July 11, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Leidos (NYSE:
LDOS), a national security, health, and infrastructure solutions
company, was awarded a prime contract by the Office of Naval
Research (ONR) to provide technical solutions for the
Electromagnetic Maneuver Warfare Command and Control (EMC2)
program. The multiple-award indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity
contract has a five-year base period of performance, a two-year
option period, and a total contract value of $900 million for all awardees, if the option is
exercised. Leidos is one of 12 contractors eligible to compete for
task orders under the contract. Work will be performed primarily in
Arlington, Va., Bowie, Md., and San
Diego, Calif.
The purpose of the EMC2 program is to identify the study,
design, fabrication, integration, and test and evaluation tasks
anticipated for the development and demonstration of a set of
prototypes, and their component subsystems, that integrate radio
frequency (RF) functionality electronic warfare, radar,
communications, information operations into a common set of
multi-function apertures, electronics and software/firmware through
an architecture that is modular, scalable across platforms and open
at the RF, electronics and software/firmware levels. Under
the contract, Leidos will develop technology and prototypes to
integrate RF functionality such as electronic warfare, radar,
communications, and information operations into a common set of
open architecture systems, antennas, electronics, and software.
