Ford Motor Co. (F) on Thursday said Peter Fleet, president of its new international markets group, to retire, plans to retire.

The auto maker said Mark Ovenden, currently president of Ford's Middle East and Africa operations, will succeed Mr. Fleet as president of the international markets group, effective April 1.

Ford announced the formation of the new unit, which will oversee operations in nearly 100 markets, late last year when it established a standalone business unit in China. Mr. Fleet, who was then president of Ford's Asia-Pacific arm, was tapped to lead the unit.

Ford said Mr. Ovenden, 54 years old, will now lead the formation of the international markets group, which will become a reporting business unit on Jan. 1, 2020.
