Dow Inc. said Friday its Gulf Coast facilities were spared major damage by Hurricane Laura a day after the storm made landfall in the region.

The Michigan-based chemicals company said its sites in the Texas cities of Sabine, Beaumont, Deer Park, La Porte, Bayport and Texas City were preemptively closed before the hurricane's arrival. Inspections after the storm's passage haven't found structural damage or flooding at those sites, Dow said.

Facilities in Sabine and Beaumont sustained minor damage, Dow said. The Deer Park, La Porte, Bayport and Texas City sites will reopen on Tuesday, Dow projected.

Another Dow site in Freeport, Texas, as well as other locations in Louisiana, remained operating during the storm, the company said.
