The European Commission Tuesday cleared copier giant Xerox Corp. (XRX) to buy business software provider Affiliated Computer Services Inc. (ACS).

Xerox agreed in September to pay about $6 billion for Affiliated Computer Services. The combined Xerox-ACS company will have $22 billion of annual revenue.

Xerox makes printers both for offices and large-scale production, but garners most of its sales from its services businesses, which include maintenance contracts, printing supplies and lease revenues.
