Item 8.01 Other Events.

On May 19, 2021, Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical Inc. (the “Company”) and GeneTx Biotherapeutics LLC issued a press release (the “Press Release”) announcing that the companies have received clearance from Health Canada to begin the clinical study of GTX-102 in Canada for the treatment of Angelman syndrome. A copy of the Press Release is filed as Exhibit 99.1.
