ServiceSPAN and SeeBeyond Ink OEM Agreement; Work Center Automation Software Provider Names SeeBeyond as Preferred BPM Solution
July 18 2005 - 12:01AM
Business Wire
ServiceSPAN, LLC, provider of work center automation software to
the communications service provider market, today announced an OEM
agreement with SeeBeyond (Nasdaq: SBYN), a leading provider of
advanced integration and composite application development
solutions. As part of the agreement, ServiceSPAN has named
SeeBeyond as its preferred Business Process Management (BPM)
solution partner to enable the delivery of enterprise integration
and composite application development. Manual work centers can be
inefficient and expensive, while costing a Service Provider delays
that may result in decreased customer satisfaction. To solve this
challenge, organizations must address back-office work centers as
strategic components of the overall provisioning and customer
satisfaction process, and implement comprehensive infrastructure to
enable seamless business process management. Providing a uniform
infrastructure for the management and delivery of manual work items
to users, ServiceSPAN's K2/Work Center Manager creates a highly
efficient environment to process work items while capturing
information required to assess and improve work center
productivity. Complementing ServiceSPAN's offering, SeeBeyond
provides organizations with the ability to extend and integrate
these work center application workflows and processes to their
customers' processes and systems. "K2/Work Center Manager offers
our customers an off-the-shelf configurable and customizable
platform as an alternative to internally developed applications.
We've combined task oriented GUIs, sophisticated work distribution
algorithms and an integrated work completion environment to drive
operational expense out of the work center," said Dan Corcoran,
ServiceSPAN's president. "The addition of SeeBeyond's products
extends K2/Work Center Manager's processes and workflows into our
customer's enterprises to offer the most comprehensive and
configurable work center automation software available on the
market." As part of the alliance agreement, ServiceSPAN's K2/Work
Center Manager product will utilize SeeBeyond's eInsight(TM)
Business Process Manager and eVision(TM) Studio products as the
preferred BPM-based integration and composite application
development solution. This combined offering will enable
organizations to: -- Separate customer business logic from
ServiceSPAN's core logic, -- Provide customers' in-house IT staff
with the flexibility to create or modify business processes
themselves, and as a result, lowering the overall cost of
ownership. "SeeBeyond's integrated composite application network
suite is a key enabler for solution providers like ServiceSPAN who
build and sell business process-driven applications based on a
Service-Oriented Architecture," said Reed Henry, Senior Vice
President, Business Development, Alliances & Marketing for
SeeBeyond. "We look forward to ServiceSPAN leveraging our product
suite to extend its offering to enable both process and data
integration as well as future composite application development for
its customers." About SeeBeyond With more than 15 years of software
