Endwave Executes Production Agreement for the Supply of Transceiver and LO Modules for Nera's Microwave Radios SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Endwave Corporation (NASDAQ:ENWV), a leading provider of radio frequency (RF) subsystems for carrier-class cellular infrastructure, broadband wireless networks, homeland security and defense systems, today announced the receipt of initial orders to become Nera's outsourcing partner for PDH and SDH transceiver and synthesizer products. Under the agreement, Endwave will commence production of sophisticated microwave modules used to provide critical up/down-conversion and source-generating functions within Nera's microwave radios. Under terms of the agreement, Endwave will serve as Nera's outsourcing partner for 4-23 GHz modules. "We are pleased that Nera has chosen Endwave as their outsourcing partner for the production of critical components across these PDH and SDH radio families," said Ed Keible, CEO and President of Endwave. "The continuing trend among OEMs is to outsource their RF subsystems as a part of their competitive strategies. This contract with Nera is another example of Endwave's ability to leverage our existing high-volume offshore manufacturing infrastructure and provide the system OEMs with major cost and performance improvements," added Keible. "In their analysis of the manufacturing of microwave and millimeter-wave modules, OEMs are finding that Endwave's combination of technology leadership and shear volume production capability are major competitive advantages." "We are pleased to announce Endwave as an outsourcing partner for PDH and SDH modules," said John Knudsen, Executive Vice President from Nera. "Endwave has served us well in the past as a trusted supplier of microwave subsystems, and we are delighted to strengthen the relationship. Given their superior technical excellence and strength in high-volume microwave subsystem manufacturing, we believe that Endwave is well suited to fulfill our requirements for these critical components within Nera radios."
