Endwave and SafeView to Increase Collaboration on Homeland Security
System Endwave Awarded Early Production Contract for the RF
Switching Network in SafeView's Security Screening Checkpoint
System SUNNYVALE, Calif., July 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Endwave
Corporation (NASDAQ:ENWV) a leading provider of radio frequency
(RF) subsystems for commercial telecommunications, homeland
security, and defense applications, today announced the expansion
of a previously announced development agreement with SafeView,
Inc., a privately held developer of a revolutionary security portal
screening system. In addition to the millimeter-wave transceiver
already under development and previously disclosed, Endwave has
been awarded a contract for early production release of the RF
switching network which allows the scanning millimeter wave signal
to route through multiple antenna elements from a single Endwave
transceiver. Endwave has completed the design and manufacture of
prototype units of the RF distribution and switching network for
design qualification and system testing and will start
manufacturing early production units. SafeView has incorporated
Endwave's switch matrix into their portal system and is currently
conducting trials with several customers around the world. The
portal system transmits ultra-high frequency, low powered RF (radio
frequency) waves as people pass through the portal. The waves
penetrate clothing and reflect off of the person's skin and any
items being carried. A sensor array captures the reflected waves
and uses a desktop computer to analyze the information and produce
a high-resolution, 3-D image from the signals. "We are pleased to
strengthen our partnership with SafeView with the award to
manufacture parts in support of this innovative security system,"
said Ed Keible, President and CEO of Endwave Corporation. "This
manufacturing contract from SafeView is yet another indicator that
companies outside of our core wireless telecommunications business
are recognizing the world-class design and high-volume
manufacturing strengths that Endwave brings to emerging homeland
security opportunities." "SafeView has awarded Endwave this
manufacturing contract based on their demonstrated core-competence
in low-loss millimeter-wave switching and power distribution," said
Rick Rowe, CEO of SafeView, Inc." As the millimeter-wave
transceiver module and the RF distribution network are
complementary parts of our overall system, Endwave is the logical
partner to provide both critical pieces of our design." About
Endwave Endwave Corporation is a provider of radio frequency (RF)
subsystems that enable the transmission and reception of voice and
data signals in broadband wireless systems. The company develops
and manufactures products used in high-speed cellular backhaul
networks, enterprise access, homeland security, defense electronics
and radar systems, and other broadband applications. These products
include integrated transceivers, oscillators/synthesizers,
high-power cellular switch-combiners, and RF modules (amplifiers,
frequency multipliers, switches, and up/down-converters). Endwave
has more than 35 issued patents covering its core technologies
including semiconductor and proprietary circuit designs. Endwave
Corporation is headquartered in Sunnyvale, CA, with operations in
Diamond Springs, CA; Andover, MA; and Lamphun, Thailand. In July of
2004, Endwave acquired JCA Technology, a recognized industry leader
in providing state-of-the-art RF amplifiers and modules to the
defense, commercial radar, and homeland security markets.

company's web site at http://www.endwave.com/ . About SafeView
SafeView, Inc. is a privately held developer of systems using
patented holographic imaging technology for various security
applications, and based in Santa Clara, CA. SafeView holds an
exclusive license to commercialize the holographic technology from
Battelle, which manages the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory
for the Department of Energy. SafeView's system uses an active
millimeter wave technology that is safe and offers clear resolution
of hidden items. Unlike some other methods of detection, SafeView's
system allows the operator to clearly see objects made of metal,
plastic, ceramic, and other materials that may be hidden under
clothing without using ionizing radiation. Although the system will
identify that objects are hidden on the body, SafeView has
developed a unique software feature that allows clear viewing of
these objects while preserving privacy. SaveView's system offers a
more effective and less intrusive alternative to metal detectors,
pat down searches, and other means used to ensure safety in public
areas. Additional information about SafeView can be accessed from
