The European Medicines Agency said Tuesday that its committee for human medicines has approved two additional manufacturing sites for the production of the coronavirus vaccine developed by BioNTech SE and Pfizer Inc.

The sites are in Reinbek, Germany, and Stein, Switzerland, and are operated by Allergopharma GmbH & Co. KG. and Novartis Pharma, respectively.

The sites are to become operational immediately, the agency said.
