Vinci SA said Tuesday that it has won a road-upgrade contract worth 86 million euros ($104.5 million) through Australia-based subsidiary Seymour Whyte in southeast Melbourne.

The French construction-and-infrastructure company said the project, which involves one of the main routes in the Dandenong South area, aims to reduce traffic pressure by widening lanes, building a new bridge and upgrading some intersections, among other works.

Construction is scheduled to start in October and last two years, Vinci said.
