OTTAWA,
Aug. 8, 2018 /CNW/
- Northern Shield Resources Inc. ("Northern Shield" or the
"Company") (TSXV: NRN) is pleased to announce the results from a
recently completed stream sediment sampling program at the Shot
Rock Property, Nova Scotia (the
"Property"). Shot Rock is being explored through Northern Shield's
wholly-owned subsidiary, Seabourne Resources Inc., which can earn
up to an 80% interest in the Property.
Significantly, four of the stream sediment samples assayed
greater than 500 ppb Au (679 and 723 ppb) with two over 1,000 ppb
Au (1,015 and 1,045 ppb). Three of these samples, along with three
other gold anomalous samples (25-100 ppb), form a distinct zone
approximately 4.5 kilometres long. This zone includes the stream
from which the gold-bearing quartz boulders disclosed in press
release dated July 24th,
2018 were found. The zone is located parallel to, and within 1
kilometre of the Trans-Canada Highway. Maps showing the anomalous
samples will be available shortly on the Company's website
at
www.northern-shield.com.
"We are very encouraged to see these highly anomalous
stream sediment samples clustered in an area that had already
caught our attention. The grades and distribution of the gold
anomalous stream sediment samples suggest there is more gold to be
found," suggests Northern Shield President and CEO, Ian Bliss.
The program is being overseen by Christine Vaillancourt, P. Geo., the Company's
Chief Geologist and a Qualified Person under National Instrument
43-101. Samples were analyzed by ALS Global in Sudbury, Ontario and in Vancouver, BC, for Au by Fire Assay with
ICP-AES finish and base metals by four acid digestion and ICP-AES.
All standards and duplicates by ALS Global meet targeted
values.
