AMD launches AI chips for business laptops and desktops

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. (NASDAQ:AMD) unveiled a new lineup of processors for personal computers on Tuesday, emphasizing a strong focus on artificial intelligence (AI) to enhance productivity and connectivity for business users. According to a recent press release, the new processors include the Ryzen Pro 8040 series for laptops and the Ryzen Pro 8000 series for desktops, both of which utilize cutting-edge 4-nanometer technology.

AMD has announced that these processors will be available in PCs from well-known brands such as Lenovo and HP starting in the second quarter of 2024. The introduction of these processors is part of AMD’s commitment to bringing top-tier computing performance and AI capabilities to the business sector.

Jack Huynh, AMD’s Senior Vice President and General Manager of Computing and Graphics, highlighted the significance of these new products: “Our latest PRO series processors set a new standard for premium computing experiences and help businesses deploy AI capabilities across their PCs with leadership performance and security.” This launch is expected to not only enhance user experience but also drive significant advancements in how businesses integrate and leverage AI technology in their daily operations.
