The Company has today been informed that as a result of the purchase of
1,000,000 Equity Units (each representing one Income share of 10p and one
Capital share of 1p in the Company) by Exeter Smaller Companies Income Fund
Ltd and 1,192,021 Equity Units by Dartmoor Investment Trust plc, on 3 October
2000, the aggregate holdings of clients of Exeter Asset Management Limited in
Yeoman Investment Trust plc are now 11,306,021 Income Shares of 10p each and
6,167,021 Capital Shares of 1p each. Following the placement of 60,359,270
Equity Units on 3 October 2000, these holdings represent 10.99% of the issued
Income Shares of the Company and 2.71% of the issued Capital Shares of the
Company.

The aggregate holding of Exeter Asset Management Ltd in the Income Shares is
held as follows:

- Dartmoor Investment Trust plc 4,767,021 (representing 4.63% of the issued
  class of share capital) 

- Exeter Preferred Capital Investment Trust PLC 1,300,000 (representing 1.26%
  of the issued class of share capital) 

- Exeter Enhanced Income Fund Ltd 1,650,000(representing 1.60% of the issued
  class of share capital) 

- Exeter High Income Unit Trust 1,250,000 (representing 1.22% of the issued
  class of share capital)

- Exeter Smaller Companies Income Fund Ltd 2,339,000 (representing 2.27% of
  the issued class of share capital).

The aggregate holding of Exeter Asset Management Ltd in the Income Shares is
held as follows:

- Dartmoor Investment Trust plc 2,667,021 (representing 1.17% of the issued
  class of share capital)

- Exeter Smaller Companies Income Fund Ltd 1,000,000 (representing 0.44% of
  the issued class of share capital)

- Exeter Capital Growth 2,500,000 (representing 1.10% of the issued class of
  share capital).
