Business Wire
State Street Global Advisors (SSgA)*, the investment management arm
of State Street Corporation (NYSE: STT), announced today that
beginning in 2009, 15 international SPDR ETFs, all of which
previously distributed income annually, will distribute income
twice per year. These ETFs will continue to distribute net capital
gains, if any, to shareholders annually. SSgA is broadly announcing
this information to ensure that all market participants, including
retail investors as well as SPDR options market makers and
authorized participants, are aware of the change. According to the
SPDR ETFs current prospectuses, SPDR ETFs will declare and pay
distributions from net investment income at least annually,
although such income dividend distributions may be declared and
paid more frequently. The decision to change the income
