State Street Global Advisors (SSgA)*, the investment management arm of State Street Corporation (NYSE: STT), announced today that beginning in 2009, 15 international SPDR ETFs, all of which previously distributed income annually, will distribute income twice per year. These ETFs will continue to distribute net capital gains, if any, to shareholders annually. SSgA is broadly announcing this information to ensure that all market participants, including retail investors as well as SPDR options market makers and authorized participants, are aware of the change. According to the SPDR ETFs� current prospectuses, SPDR ETFs will declare and pay distributions from net investment income at least annually, although such income dividend distributions may be declared and paid more frequently. The decision to change the income distribution schedule for the 15 international SPDR ETFs was made to increase the efficiency of fund management.
