Millions of consumers have November 28 circled on their calendars
as the most exciting shopping day of the year. In fact, according
to an online survey conducted by shopping center developer General
Growth Properties, Inc. (NYSE: GGP), nearly 80 percent of consumers
who plan to shop on the day after Thanksgiving known as Black
Friday by retailers expect to take advantage of special events,
such as early-bird sales, special retail offers, prize giveaways
and holiday festivities(a). Black Friday is one of the most
exciting days you can spend at a GGP mall. Whether youre looking
for this years hottest gifts or best deals, we have an exciting
schedule of activities at each of our 200-plus mall locations,
said Wally Brewster, senior vice president, Marketing &
Communications, General Growth Properties. Special GGP Black Friday
activities include: Rockin Shoppin Eve Doors at select GGP malls
will open as early as 12:01 a.m. to kick off Black Friday. Crowds
will be treated to early-bird sales, DJs playing live music,
shopping spree giveaways and free coffee and hot cocoa. Rockin
Shoppin Eve malls include: Altamonte Mall (Orlando, FL); Carolina
Place (Charlotte, NC); Jordan Creek (West Des Moines, IA); North
Point Mall (Atlanta, GA); The Maine Mall (South Portland, ME); and
Town East Mall (Dallas, TX). Get Your Gift On More than 150 GGP

a festive atmosphere, prizes and giveaways(b). Shoppers can win on

Lifestyle Guru, to give shopping advice for a high-impact,
low-stress Black Friday experience. During this tight economy,
getting that awesome gift is possible with a little creativity and
preparation, Kemble says. The hustle and bustle of the malls on
Black Friday is so exciting, but you must take the time to plan out
your strategy in advance in order to get the best deals and have
the most fun. Kemble, a nationally recognized professional event
planner, has several shopping tips to share, among them: Develop a
Shopping Budget and Strategy First and foremost, determine how
much you can afford to spend on your holiday gifts especially in
the wake of current economic challenges. Plan your day around
getting those must-haves before they run out. If needed, you can
always plan a second trip to the mall for more common gifts that
are likely to remain in stock for a longer period of time. Take A
Load Off Prior to shopping, visit your malls Web site to see
what services are available to customers. Some malls, including
many GGP malls, offer services like valet parking and complimentary
coffee. You may also be able to take advantage of coat check
services where you can not only leave your winter coat but also
drop off packages as you accumulate them. Lifesaving Moves Bring
a partner in crime, or even a team of friends to help you conquer
the mall this year. Its always good to have someone you trust to
provide a second opinion when shopping. Also, be sure to leave time
in your shopping day for lunch at your mall. Shopping feels better
on a full stomach, plus if you plan it a little earlier or later in
the day than most other shoppers, you can scoop up all the sales
while most people are taking a break. Holiday shoppers can find
