MEMPHIS, Tenn., Oct. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Sedgwick Claims Management Services, Inc. (Sedgwick CMS) announced a gift today of $150,000 to the Walter Reed Society, the private auxiliary support organization for Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WRAMC). The gift will be used by the Walter Reed Society's Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation Enduring Freedom (OIF/OEF) Support Fund for assistance grants to soldiers and the families of soldiers receiving treatment at WRAMC for wounds received in Iraq, Afghanistan and related operations. Sedgwick CMS colleagues (employees) raised approximately half of the amount, and the Company matched their contribution. Sedgwick CMS President and CEO David A. North and a delegation including four Sedgwick CMS colleagues with recent service in OIF/OEF presented the contribution to the Walter Reed Society today at a ceremony at WRAMC in Washington, D.C. Major General (Ret) Enrique Mendez, formerly Commander of WRAMC and Under Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs and a past President of the Walter Reed Society, accepted the gift on behalf of the organization.
