BP PLC on Thursday confirmed that it has temporarily closed some
of its U.K. gas stations due to fuel-supply issues.
The energy company said some of its retail sites have been hit
by delays in the supply chain, which are being caused by an
industry-wide shortage of drivers across the U.K.
Earlier on Thursday, ITV reported that BP planned to run 80% of
services levels to 90% of its forecourt network, meaning most
locations won't be restocked for one-and-a-half days a week.
"We continue to work with our hauler supplier to minimize any
future disruption and to ensure efficient and effective deliveries
to serve our customers," BP said in an statement.
Shares at 1414 GMT were down 0.7% at 314.65 pence.
