SmartMusic® Expands World’s Largest Accompaniment Library

MakeMusic, Inc. (NASDAQ: MMUS), a world leader in music
technology, announced the addition of new method books and solos to
its SmartMusic® accompaniment library, including the Measures of
Success band method book, Standard of Excellence Festival Solos,
Book 1, and advanced solos for trumpet and trombone. In addition,
to address the needs of elementary school music programs,
SmartMusic now includes Recorder Express, a popular method book
which lays a foundation for the budding musician. Earlier this
year, the company released instrumental solos as well for three
popular soundtracks: Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings and Star
Wars.

Standard of Excellence Festival Solos, Book 1 includes 15 titles
for many instruments, including percussion. The advanced solos are
the Gr�ndahl Concerto for Trombone, the Stephenson Sonata for
Trumpet and Piano (Bb and C Trumpet) and Broughton’s Oliver’s
Birthday for trumpet.
Recorder Express: Soprano Recorder Method for Classroom or
Individual Use, by Artie Almeida, includes more than 120
exercises and melodies (folk, pop and original songs) – with
accompaniments – as well as technique tips, beginning music theory
and click-on-a-note fingering references. Familiar songs include
the words. Vocabulary, theory, rhythm or technique concepts, as
well as new notes, are highlighted in train car pictures, making
Recorder Express appealing for young musicians.
Responding to subscriber requests, SmartMusic now includes three
collections of popular movie theme instrumental solos for winds,
brass, strings, and mallet percussion: Harry Potter Instrumental
Solos (Movies 1-5), The Lord of the Rings Instrumental Solos and
Star Wars: A Musical Journey (Episodes I-VI).
