Robert Hinden, Check Point Fellow, has been appointed to the Board
of Trustees for the Internet Society (ISOC), a non-profit

effective between 2010 and 2013, he will provide strategic guidance
on core areas of ISOC's mission, including the open development of
standards, protocols, administration, technical infrastructure of
the Internet and guidance on critical information security
initiatives. The Internet Society's Board of Trustees consists of
12 members, comprised of industry leaders in information
technology, security, academic and the global Internet community,
each elected by the chapters, organization members and the Internet
Architecture Board (IAB).
"The Internet Society Board of Trustees continues to provide
unique perspective and guidance for the global community, working
to ensure the Internet is accessible for everyone, everywhere,"
said Lynn St. Amour, president and chief executive offer of the
Internet Society. "One of the Internet Society's key strategic
initiatives is the pursuit of what we call network confidence --
Mr. Hinden's deep knowledge of the Internet security industry and
experience in working with the IETF will significantly contribute
to our work in this field. We look forward to welcoming him to our
board."
"The development of open standards of the Internet is an
important step toward the advancement of information technology and
security, particularly in critical areas for the Internet
community, including network neutrality, IPv6 deployments, as well
as trust and identity issues," said Robert Hinden, Check Point
Fellow at Check Point Software Technologies. "I'm honored to join

experience to provide guidance on these strategic initiatives and
policy areas and extend a greater partnership between Check Point
