Cadence Design Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: CDNS), a leader in global
electronic design innovation, has won the prestigious 2012 EE
Times-China's ACE Award for its Cadence® Virtuoso® AMS Designer
product, used to help produce the types of mixed-signal SoCs used
in today's mobile devices. After customer voting, the Virtuoso AMS
Designer was chosen in the category of best electronic design
automation (EDA) product.
EE Times-China, part of the UBM Electronics chain of trade
publications, presented Cadence with the award during the
engineering publication's annual conference in Shenzhen. In the
United States, Cadence has also been named a finalist for 2012 UBM
Electronics ACE Awards in four categories: Company of the Year,
Executive of the Year for Cadence President and CEO Lip-Bu Tan,
Ultimate Product leadership in software for the Cadence Virtual
System Platform, and Ultimate Product leadership in SoCs for the
Cadence Wide I/O Memory Controller Design IP.
"This recognition from EE Times-China is particularly meaningful
to Cadence, and for two key reasons," said Tom Beckley, senior vice
president of research and development with the Silicon Realization
Group at Cadence. "First, mixed-signal design is central to the
modern mobile world; it's an area where Cadence has been heavily
focused. Second, China is playing an ever-growing role in high
technology, and it is a key market for us. We appreciate this
support from the Chinese engineers, who have used the Virtuoso AMS
Designer to design remarkably complex and innovative chips that
contribute greatly to advancements in high-tech products."
Cadence Virtuoso AMS Designer is a mixed-signal simulation
solution for the design and verification of analog, RF, memory, and
mixed-signal SoCs. It is integrated with the Virtuoso full-custom
environment for mixed-signal design and verification.
