ARRIS Selects Texas Instruments as Primary Supplier of Cable Modem Solutions Market Innovators Collaborate to Deliver Data and Voice over Broadband and Accelerate Consumer Adoption of VoIP DALLAS, Nov. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Texas Instruments Incorporated (NYSE:TXN) (TI) today announced that ARRIS (NASDAQ:ARRS), a global communications technology leader in the development of advanced cable telephony solutions, has selected TI as its primary supplier of Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) silicon and software for DOCSIS(R) and Euro-DOCSIS based voice-enabled cable modems. TI will continue to supply technology for ARRIS' data cable modems. As the voice over broadband marketplace continues to grow, TI and ARRIS expect their collaboration on next-generation products to continue to enhance the features and functionality of voice over cable (VoCable) platforms.
