SUWANEE, Ga., June 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- ARRIS
(Nasdaq: ARRS) today announced that it will display its new C4®
CMTS 24U Cable Access Module (CAM) at NCTA 2011, in Chicago, June 14-16,
2011.
The 24U CAM doubles the C4 CMTS' previous upstream density,
allowing cable service providers to deploy faster services,
including DOCSIS® 3.0 upstream channel bonding, with less capital
expense. The 24U CAM supports from 5-42, to 5-65 and 5-85MHz
for upstream services, which allows operators to use more spectrum
for future services, extending upstream HFC capability. The
24U CAM is fully supported using today's high-performance C4
control complex and other chassis components, offering investment
protection for all C4 CMTS customers.
With the 24U CAM, ARRIS continues providing industry-leading
'hitless' RF sparing fully integrated into the C4 chassis
precluding the need for external wiring or added components.
Coupled with the recently introduced XD CAM double density
downstream module, the C4 CMTS now delivers true high-availability
with density equal to or greater than any competitive CMTS offering
available, and total cost of ownership equal to or lower than other
competitive solutions.
"The new 24U CAM allows operators to double their upstream
bandwidth without the need for a chassis replacement, thus
continuing the ARRIS commitment to customer investment protection,"
noted ARRIS VP Product Management Todd Kessler. "We have
architected the C4 CMTS to provide the flexibility to match each
operator's specific bandwidth delivery needs with variable upstream
and downstream sparing group sizes while continuing to offer
full-scale throughput support for both IPv4 and IPv6 traffic."
