Apple Inc. dodged a potential Supreme Court review Monday of a
ruling that it didn't need to pay hundreds of millions of dollars
in damages to the University of Wisconsin's licensing arm over
alleged patent infringement.
An appellate court last year overturned a 2015 ruling that
Apple's devices infringed on a Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation
patent regarding the computer processors in smartphones and other
devices.
The university sued Intel Corp. in 2008 for infringing on the
patent, though, the parties later settled the matter in 2009.
