Allscripts (NASDAQ: MDRX) has been recognized by Frost &
Sullivan with the 2019 Best Practices Award for its population
health management solutions. According to the report, Allscripts
has “pioneered the concept of an open yet connected platform
architecture, fueled by a real-time application programming
interface (API) that incorporates disparate medical evidence
seamlessly across the care continuum.”
Frost & Sullivan evaluated Allscripts in two
main areas: Product Family Attributes and Business Impact. The
analyst firm ranked Allscripts on criteria such as “Reliability
& Quality,” “Financial Performance,” “Operational Efficiency,”
and other strategy-based indicators.
Allscripts has integrated 3,400 hospitals,
75,000 physician practices, and 16 million patients worldwide
through its various connected heath solutions under the Allscripts
CareInMotion™ platform, which includes Allscripts dbMotion™,
Allscripts® Care Director™, and FollowMyHealth®. The report states
the company has demonstrated proven expertise in optimizing every
element of a population health management program, including the
following:
- EHR-integrated data analytics
- Cross-continuum care management
- Proactive patient engagement
- Comprehensive outcomes reporting
“A value-based healthcare industry needs to be
supported by an overarching population health management platform
that is vendor agnostic yet agile enough to deploy and easily
configure to meet specific workflows,” said Frost and Sullivan
Industry Analyst, Koustav Chatterjee. “Allscripts has achieved each
of these industry goals both sooner and better than most
competitors have.”
According to Frost & Sullivan, Allscripts
has stayed focused on “progressive health IT solutions that address
the wide-ranging business needs of integrated delivery networks,
multi-specialty hospitals, ambulatory physician practices,
community care facilities, life sciences firms, and insurance
companies.”
“Allscripts is honored to be named recipient of
Frost & Sullivan’s 2019 Best Practices Award for Population
Health Management” said Paul Black, Allscripts Chief Executive
Officer. “We believe this recognition is a reflection of our
commitment to our clients to provide them with solutions that
achieve better long-term clinical and financial performance.”
