HTC Hungarian Telephone And Cable Corp

Hungarian Telephone and Cable Corp. (AMEX:HTC) today announced that it has expanded the size of its Board of Directors from six to seven directors and Peter Thomsen has been elected to its Board of Directors. Mr. Thomsen is an International Project Manager of TDC Solutions, a business unit of TDC A/S. TDC owns 62% of Hungarian Telephone's outstanding common stock. Hungarian Telephone also announced that its 2006 Annual Meeting of Stockholders will be held in New York, N.Y. on Wednesday, May 17th.
