Comcast Corp. Up Over 5% After 4Q Earnings Release -- Data Talk

Comcast Corp. Class A (CMCSA) is currently at $36.89, up $1.92 or 5.49%

-- Would be highest close since Dec. 12, 2018, when it closed at $36.98

-- On pace for largest percent increase since Feb. 3, 2016, when it rose 5.95%

-- Earlier Wednesday, Comcast reported fourth-quarter earnings shrank to $2.51 billion, or 55 cents a share, from $15 billion, or $3.17 cents a share in the year-earlier quarter, when results were boosted by a one-time tax benefit. Excluding that year-earlier tax benefit, Comcast earnings grew 36% to 64 cents per share. The results exceeded estimates from analysts surveyed by FactSet, which projected revenue of $27.55 billion and adjusted earnings of 62 cents a share

-- Comcast also announced it is raising its quarterly dividend to 21 cents versus 19 cents
