LOS ANGELES, March 27, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Cathay Bank announces the appointment of Mr. Alan Wright as Senior Vice President and Team Manager of Business Development. In his new position, Mr. Wright will lead an experienced team of commercial bankers focused on providing solutions for growth, acquisitions, recapitalizations and traditional financing needs for middle market companies throughout Southern California.

Mr. Wright brings over two decades of experience in corporate banking with regional and national financial institutions. Most recently, Mr. Wright was First Vice President of the Corporate Banking Group at California Bank & Trust, a subsidiary of Zions Bancorp, where he managed a portfolio of complex lending relationships with middle market companies that included syndicated credits, leveraged finance credits and asset-based loans. Mr. Wright has extensive experience managing banking relationships from newly capitalized start-ups to publicly traded firms. 

Mr. Wright holds dual undergraduate degrees in History and American Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) and an MBA in Finance from the Graziadio School of Business at Pepperdine University. He has also completed programs in accountancy from the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley and in real estate at the Lusk Center for Real Estate at the University of Southern California (USC).

Mr. Wright has been active in numerous community and business organizations throughout his career. He currently serves as a member on the Board of Directors and as the Treasurer of the Habitat for Humanity Greater Los Angeles. In 2015, he was honored by President Barack Obama with the President's Volunteer Service Award for his work with the organization. Mr. Wright is also a member of the Graduate Chapter of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc.
