ICSC/Goldman Sachs Chain Store Sales Edge Up in Latest Week

The International Council of Shopping Centers and Goldman Sachs
Retail Chain Store Sales Index edged up 0.1% in the week ended
Saturday from the previous week on a seasonally adjusted,
comparable-store basis.
Business was strong for apparel retailers, dollar stores,
wholesale clubs and discounters, according to Michael Niemira, ICSC
vice president of research and chief economist. "Business was also
strong at electronic stores--possibly buoyed by the release of
Apple's iPhone 6."
On a year-to-year basis, the weekly reading increased 4.1%.
