                       NEW FINANCE DIRECTOR APPOINTMENT                        

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Charles Peter Bithell (MA Oxon,
ACA) as the Group's Finance Director. Charles, age 35 will join Parkwood from a
main market listed service sector group where he is currently the Senior Group
Finance Manager and Company Secretary. Charles will take up his new post in
December and intends to relocate from Surrey to Lancashire. There are no
matters to disclose pursuant to paragraph 16.4 of the Listing Rules with
respect to Mr. Bithell's appointment.

Parkwood are also pleased to report that their "green" services subsidiary
Glendale has been awarded a seven year contract with British Airports Authority
to maintain the grounds of Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted and Southampton
Airports. This contract commences on 1st December 2003 and will have a term
value of around �9 million. Glendale are pleased to add another "blue" chip
private sector customer to its client base.

public sector across England and Wales under long term contracts. Its three
main areas of operation are as follows:

  * Glendale - The management of parks and open spaces for a predominately
    local authority client base. This operation is currently being expanded
    into related "green" businesses under the "Think Green - Think Glendale"
    logo.
   
  * Parkwood Leisure - The management of a diverse range of leisure facilities,
    again predominately for local authority clients. This Division is also the
    beneficiary of most of the Group's contracts won under the PFI procurement

    NHS Trusts under the "National Ambulance Service" banner, together with the
