United Group Ltd. (UGL.AU) said Friday it has won an A$165 million contract with BHP Billiton Ltd.'s (BHP.AU) iron ore operations at Port Hedland, Western Australia.

The project involves fabrication and installation of structural steel and mechanical equipment associated with transfer stations, conveyors and shuttles for BHP Billiton's iron ore rapid growth project 5.

"The planned expansion of Western Australia's iron ore industry will provide us with major engineering, construction and maintenance opportunities over the longer term," United Group Chief Executive Richard Leupen said in a statement.
