           ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING STATEMENT

SUCCESSFUL JANUARY SALE AND CONTINUED EXPANSION

ScS Upholstery plc, the fully listed furniture retailer,
held its Annual General Meeting at 12 noon today.

Tony McCann, Chairman, updated the meeting on current
trading results and outlook saying:

"The new financial year has started well with total sales
order intake for the first 15 weeks significantly ahead of
last year. This is partly due to an increase of 32% in total
selling area from five new branches opened since August 1999
and a 7% increase in like for like sales during this 15 week
period. Gross profit margin has been maintained during the
entire period.

As previously announced, the two latest stores opened in
Chester and Warrington on Boxing Day are continuing to trade
successfully. Our expansion plans for the remainder of this
financial year are to open up to six additional stores, at
least one of which will be trading by Easter. The focus on
regional clusters of quality trading locations is still a
priority, enabling the Group to continue to benefit from
distribution and advertising economies of scale.

Our balance sheet, cash flow and margins continue to remain
strong as we focus on the roll out programme and further our
expansion."
