The Company received notification on 12 July 2001 that earlier that day,
Christa Echtle, Managing Director, acquired 90,909 ordinary shares at 110p per
share.


As a result of this share purchase, Christa Echtle has a beneficial interest
in 90,909 ordinary shares, representing 0.2 per cent. of the Company's issued
ordinary share capital.  The Company's issued ordinary share capital comprises
22,492,179 listed ordinary shares and 22,241,400 unlisted 'B' Ordinary Shares.
