Issue of shares

M&G Equity Investment Trust P.L.C. announces that it issued 1,000,000 package 
units (comprising one income share, one capital share and one zero dividend 
share) at 94.25pence per package unit representing 0.6% of the income shares in 
issue, 0.6% of the zero dividend preference shares in issue and 0.6% of the 
capital shares in issue. 
 
Following this issue, the Company's issued share capital now comprises 
176,544,139 income  shares, 176,544,139 zero dividend preference shares and 
176,544,139 capital shares. 
 
Dealings in the shares will commence on 23 September 2010. Application has been 
made to the UK Listing Authority for the shares to be admitted to the Official 
List and to the London Stock Exchange for the shares to be admitted to trading.
