PERSTORP LAMINATPRODUKTION SERVES NOTICE TO 130 EMPLOYEES IN PERSTORP

Perstorp Laminatproduktion AB, based in Perstorp, Sweden, is issuing employment
termination notices to 130 employees. The company's main operation involves
supplies of flooring laminate to Pergo AB and the personnel reduction is due to
the current changes being made to Pergo's product range. Perstorp
Laminatproduktion and Pergo are both members of the Perstorp Group.

The company has requested negotiations with the trade unions concerned and
informed the workforce. It will not be possible to exactly specify the number of
employees affected by the changes until the negotiations have been completed.

Perstorp AB, in cooperation with the county labor board, will assign resources
with the aim of finding new jobs or training opportunities for the personnel
concerned.

During the preceding fiscal year, Perstorp Laminatproduktion was part of
Perstorp Surface Materials. The company's operations, which have slightly more
than 300 employees, are conducted at the complex in Perstorp.

"Pergo recently supplemented its range by adding so-called direct laminate
flooring, which it is manufacturing in cooperation with a partner in Germany.
The newly added flooring replaces some of the products manufactured at the
plants in Trelleborg and Perstorp. Since we have one of Europe's most efficient
laminate plants, we're optimistic about our prospects to sell our products for
applications other than flooring, and we're working intensively with this in
mind. At the present time, however, the changes to the product range have
affected the laminate plant in Perstorp and have unfortunately resulted in
surplus manpower among personnel here," says Leif Hagberg, President of Perstorp
Laminatproduktion AB.
