OMV AG said late Thursday that Wolfgang C. Berndt is resigning as supervisory board chairman.

The Austrian oil-and-gas company said Oesterreichische Beteiligungs AG--an Austrian state holding company holding with a 31.5% stake in OMV--would propose former Borealis AG Chief Executive Mark Garrett as a candidate to the supervisory board.
