Salzgitter AG said Thursday that two of its subsidiaries will
deliver 50,000 tons of steel plates to be used in an offshore wind
farm off the coast of Brittany, France.
The German steel maker said the subsidiaries--Ilsenburger
Grobblech GmbH and Salzgitter Mannesmann Grobblech GmbH--will
deliver the plates to Spanish company Navantia SA, which will then
build foundation structures to be used at the wind farm.
The farm, named Saint-Brieuc, is owned and operated by Spanish
utility company Iberdrola SA.
The supply of the plates started in August and will be completed
in the spring of 2021, Salzgitter said. No financial terms of the
delivery were disclosed.
