Environmental Service Professionals, Inc. ("ESP") (OTCBB: EVSP), an
innovator in environmental home inspections, today released
comments from the Company's Chairman and CEO, Edward L. Torres,
made while addressing managers of ESP subsidiaries on the State of
the Company.
During his remarks, Mr. Torres discussed President Obama's
speech of December 8, 2009, on Job Creation and Economic Growth,
and noted that ESP as a company is uniquely aligned with the Obama
Administration's goals and objectives and is positioned to benefit
from proposed new programs and tax incentives.
"The President's discussion of job creation and economic growth
in a speech he gave in early December 2009 directly relates to our
company and our efforts here at ESP," said Mr. Torres. The
President further discussed these ideas in a speech on January 8,
2010, linking jobs and clean energy investments.
In December, the President stated: "Over the past 15 years,
small businesses have created roughly 65 percent of all new jobs in
America... I believe it's worthwhile to create a tax incentive to
encourage small businesses to add and keep employees, and I'm going
to work with Congress to pass one." He also declared, "I am calling
on Congress to consider a new program to provide incentives for
consumers who retrofit their homes to become more energy-efficient,
which we know creates jobs, saves money for families and reduces
the pollution that threatens our environment. And I am proposing
that we expand select Recovery Act initiatives to promote energy
efficiency and clean energy jobs... And we cannot continue to
ignore the clean energy challenge or cede global leadership in the
emerging industries of the 21st century."
Mr. Torres remarked that ESP is on track to help build that
workforce: "We have the ability with our new jobs program, given
certain milestones, to hire and train thousands of Veterans, as
well as Disabled Veterans. Our program will provide long-term
employment in their local communities and contribute to these
communities by providing a valuable service to thousands of
American families. Additionally, our timing to implement this
program coincides directly with the President's recent goals and
objectives. We also anticipate that there might be tax incentives
that accompany our new jobs program, which of course would be an
excellent bonus. I am proud that ESP will be a contributing factor
in the creation of jobs, especially for those returning Veterans
that have given so much for our country."
Mr. Torres further noted that ESP's Certified Environmental Home
Inspection, (CEHI(TM)) Program -- which provides inspections for
energy audits, indoor air quality, home inspections, radon, lead
and asbestos -- meets or exceeds the President's mandate.
"ESP is uniquely positioned," he continued, "to provide the
vehicle, on a national basis, to accommodate the President's goals
for job creation, energy efficiency and economic growth. We are
poised to enhance the President's objectives by promoting our core
programs 'Healthy Homes America' and 'Healthy Home Mortgage,' which
are designed to provide consumers and stakeholders alike our
'Healthy Green Living Certification' indicating that their home
will be annually inspected for a period of ten years through the
Healthy Home Mortgage."
Finally, Mr. Torres stated, "In the next 36 months, we expect
our new jobs program to train and hire over 50,000 Veterans over
the next 36 months as Certified Environmental Home Inspectors and
train and hire over 10,000 Disabled Veterans to become Customer
Service Representatives to support the inspectors and customers of
this new program."
