Sangoma® Technologies Corporation (TSX VENTURE: STC), a leading
supplier of hardware and software enabling server-based voice and
data communication applications, announced that it has entered into
an OEM relationship with a major computer and networking equipment
supplier. As part of the agreement, Sangoma will supply its
NetBorder™ Express Gateway for integration into the OEM's
networking products, enabling seamless Public Switched Telephone
Network (PSTN) connectivity to unified communication applications
running in the enterprise.
The integrated product is expected to become generally available
in the second half of 2010. The OEM contract is expected to
generate several millions of dollars in revenue for Sangoma over
the coming years. It should be noted however that at the current
time, there are no significant binding purchase orders for any of
these products.
The red-hot unified communications market is expected to grow to
more than $1 billion dollars by 2013, according to a recent study
by Infonetics Research. Sangoma's NetBorder Express Gateway, with
its modular approach, low-profile form factor and proven
interoperability with all major SIP devices and applications, is an
ideal product that is helping drive market demand. This VoIP
gateway component integrates flawlessly into OEM servers, data
switches and other telecom devices.
"Our media gateway product allows our OEM customers to easily
integrate into existing computer-based networking equipment such as
a telecom server, a data switch or other device, and deliver an
all-in-one networking solution that includes PSTN connectivity,"
said Frederic Dickey, Director of Product Management at Sangoma."
Ultimately, end-users get a single, cost-effective device that can
meet a wide range of their telecom needs, especially as it pertains
to unified communications."
NetBorder Express Gateway supports both the Windows and Linux
operating systems. The product further supports a variety of
telephony interfaces from simple analog connections to multiple
digital T1/E1 ports supporting hundreds of channels. It converts
these telephony protocols into VoIP traffic, providing
straightforward compatibility between the PSTN and a wide variety
of unified communication applications.
