TORONTO, Feb. 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Exco Technologies Limited (TSX-XTC) today is pleased to announce the appointment, effective today, of Philip Matthews, CA as a director of the Board.  Mr. Matthews has a Masters degree in Economics and is a Chartered Accountant. He has been a partner with Ernst & Young LLP from 1980 until his retirement in June 2004. Over his career, Philip has been responsible for auditing numerous public companies including automotive, farming equipment and other manufacturers. His extensive financial and accounting experience with manufacturing companies will make him a valuable addition to Exco's Board at a time when the Company is adapting to new financial reporting standards. Philip has also been appointed Chairman of the Company's Audit Committee and member of the Company's Governance and Nominating Committee.
