Press Ganey Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:PGND) today announced it has
been approved by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services
(CMS) to administer the 2016 Outpatient and Ambulatory Surgery
Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (OAS CAHPS)
Survey, complementing the company’s robust portfolio of CAHPS
solutions, already serving more than 8,000 organizations across the
country.
Beginning in January 2016, CMS will start voluntary monthly data
collection using the OAS CAHPS survey. The official OAS CAHPS
survey, developed by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality
(AHRQ), includes 37 questions that assess patient experience
measures for hospital-based outpatient surgery departments and
free-standing ambulatory surgery centers, as well as
patient-reported health outcomes.
The Press Ganey OAS CAHPS solution includes the questions
required by CMS as well as proprietary Ambulatory Surgery (AS)
questions that capture additional insights to help providers better
understand their patients’ perceptions of their care experience,
providing direction for performance improvement.
