Gateway's Next-Generation Servers Equipped to Meet Broad Range of
Business and Institution Needs Backed by New Intel Technology,
High-Density Rack-Mount and Tower Servers Offer High Performance at
Competitive Price Points IRVINE, Calif., Feb. 7
/PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Refreshing its portfolio of full-featured
server offerings for the professional sectors, Gateway today
announced three new server products: the Gateway 9510 Series tower
server, the Gateway 9315 Series 1U rack-mount server and the
Gateway 9515 Series 2U rack-mount server. The new systems
complement Gateway's growing line of back-office computing
platforms, which spans from the entry-level Gateway 9210 all the
way up to the Gateway 995 4U enterprise-class server. (Logo:

powerful, high-density solutions are designed to meet a broad
spectrum of business, education and government organizations'
workgroup and departmental computing needs. Each of the new server
platforms features support for the Intel(R) E7520 or E7320 chipset
and Intel(R) Xeon(TM) dual processing capability, providing
next-generation performance and system responsiveness(1)(4). The
new Intel processors are coupled with an 800 MHz system bus and
Hyper Threading technology(4), helping businesses effectively
handle spikes in workload. As a result, the systems can be utilized
for basic file and print functions up to more demanding email and
high-end database applications. With PCI Express and DDR2 memory,
the server lines boast robust graphics capabilities and increased
I/O performance with reduced system latency. Enhancing
manageability, the systems also feature hot swap drive bay options
in the 9510 and 9315. Reliability features are also available,
including ECC memory, dual redundant fans and dual redundant power
supplies. "Businesses need an easy-to-manage computing platform
that will scale as they grow," said Tim Diefenthaler, senior
director of server product marketing at Gateway. "Gateway's new
servers offer availability features such as RAID 5 in a 1U chassis
and hot swap redundant fans. Coupled with the latest Xeon
processing power the systems scale from web servers up to demanding
transactional database applications, ultimately delivering
exceptional value to customers." Because the systems are scalable,
they provide great performance today while leaving plenty of
headroom to address organizations' future needs. All of the servers
include ample drive bays, room for additional memory and two-to-six
PCI slots, including PCIe and PCI-X. Additionally, the servers
support 64-bit extended memory technology (EM64T), so IT managers
can utilize next-generation 64-bit applications without sacrificing
compatibility with current 32-bit applications. Gateway 9510 Series
