SAN DIEGO, Nov. 28, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Bridgepoint
Education, Inc. (NYSE: BPI) raised more than $127,000 for charity as part of the company's
2017 United Way Workplace Giving Campaign. The company pledged to
match each employee campaign donation, up to $5,000 per person.
Employees had the option to participate in the campaign with a
one-time credit card donation, recurring paycheck deductions, or
accrued vacation time (which was then monetized). They also had the
chance to donate either to a United Way chapter or to another
501(c)(3) charity of their choice. Additionally, in-person
fundraising events were held in San Diego and Clinton,
Iowa.
"Bridgepoint Education's United Way Campaign allows our team
members to maximize their impact on a non-profit that matters to
them," said Andrew Clark, president
and CEO of Bridgepoint Education. "Bridgepoint proudly partners
with its employees through the company match to make a real
difference in our communities. United Way changes lives, and we are
honored to be a part of that change."
The United Way chapters supported by the campaign were Mile High
United Way; United Way of Clinton County,
Iowa; United Way of San Diego
County; and Valley of the Sun United Way.
