International stocks trading in New York closed mixed on Wednesday.

The S&P/BNY Mellon index of American depositary receipts ticked up 0.2% to 137.94. The European index edged down 0.1% to 128.67. The Asian index was up 0.7% to 167.39. The Latin American index lost 0.4% to 191.10, while the emerging-markets index rose 0.8% to 285.13.

ABB Ltd. was among those whose ADRs traded actively.

The Swiss technology company slipped 0.2% after it said it agreed to expand its work on large-scale green hydrogen production systems with Canada's Hydrogen Optimized Inc.

Pharmaceutical giant AstraZeneca PLC rose 1.8% after the company said a total of 15 approved and potential new medicines from the company will be featured across more than 75 abstracts in 13 tumor types at the European Society for Medical Oncology Congress 2022.
