i2 Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:ITWO) today announced that Essar Steel, one of the largest global steel producers, has implemented i2 planning solutions in its Indian operations to increase profitability, enhance customer satisfaction and improve operational efficiency.

Key results include:

  • Improved profitability through a profit-optimized sales mix, synchronized order booking and planning and execution
  • Improved customer satisfaction through better sales and operations alignment
  • Improved critical asset utilization through extended demand visibility, capacity projection and better load balancing through advanced order planning

Additionally, forecast accuracy increased by nearly 30 percent for domestic contract customers and the response time to customer inquiries was reduced from two hours to six seconds.
