At the end of the settlement date of May 31, 2018, short interest
in 2,332 Nasdaq Global MarketSM securities
totaled 7,265,743,263 shares compared with 7,154,838,079
shares in 2,341 Global Market issues reported for the prior
settlement date of May 15, 2018. The end-of-May short interest
represents 4.33 days average daily Nasdaq Global Market share
volume for the reporting period, compared with 4.04 days for
the prior reporting period.
Short interest in 883 securities on The Nasdaq Capital
MarketSM totaled 1,087,845,289 shares at the end of the
settlement date of May 31, 2018 compared with 1,048,689,714
shares in 885 securities for the previous reporting period.
This represents 2.76 days average daily volume, compared with
the previous reporting period’s figure of 3.30.
In summary, short interest in all 3,215
