Centrus Health and Cerner Collaborate to Deliver Value-Based and Innovative Population Health Care in Kansas City
March 06 2018 - 9:01AM
Centrus Health, a Kansas City-based clinically integrated network,
and Cerner, a global leader in health care technology, have come
together with a shared vision to improve health care delivery while
reducing costs across the Kansas City community. Centrus Health, a
network comprised of high-quality hospitals and providers in the
region including North Kansas City Hospital, Shawnee Mission
Health, The University of Kansas Health System and independent
physicians facilitated by the Kansas City Metropolitan Physician
Association, plan to use Cerner’s technological tools and
analytical capabilities to create a population health management
program that is expected to advance value-based health care
delivery in Kansas City.
“This collaboration with Cerner aligns with our goal to increase
the value of health care in Kansas City,” said Chris Wilson,
executive director, Centrus Health. “With Cerner’s technology,
proven track record of innovation and shared incentives, we will
optimize our physician-led clinically integrated network to
continue to provide high-quality, low-cost patient-centric
care.”
The anticipated relationship between Centrus Health and Cerner
marks the beginning of an opportunity to further improve care
delivery to patients in Kansas City. The collaboration will permit
Centrus Health to use Cerner’s technology, and dedicated Cerner
associates will work to further optimize the network’s value-based
contracts through innovations in technology and new business
models. Centrus Health will use the Cerner HealtheIntentSM
population health management platform to coordinate and manage care
across the clinically integrated network. The more than 1,600
physician participants of Centrus Health will benefit from working
collaboratively, sharing data and holding each other accountable
for performance against clinical quality and efficiency standards –
positioning Centrus Health for long-term provider sustainability
and new business development arrangements.
“Centrus Health and Cerner together have the unique opportunity
to make a real impact on the quality and delivery of health care in
the Kansas City metro area,” said Zane Burke, president, Cerner.
“As we work toward our shared vision of improving the patient and
consumer experience, we are proud that local associates, colleagues
and neighbors will reap those benefits.”
Cerner will demonstrate how its solutions and services can be
implemented throughout independent organizations to help improve
care delivery across populations at Booth 1832 at HIMSS18, March
5-9, at the Venetian – Palazzo – Sands Expo Convention Center in
Las Vegas.
