FARMINGTON, Conn., Nov. 30, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- United
Technologies Corp. (NYSE: UTX) ("UTC") has announced the
appointment of Paul Eremenko as
Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, effective
January 1, 2018. Eremenko succeeds
J. Michael McQuade, who will retire
next year following a distinguished career.
Reporting to UTC Chairman and CEO Greg
Hayes, Eremenko will provide strategic leadership for the
company's research, engineering and development activities
in the global aerospace and building systems industries. He
will also oversee the United Technologies Research
Center.

Eremenko will join UTC from Airbus, where he is the Chief
Technology Officer. Previously, Eremenko served as the founding CEO
of A^3 by Airbus Group and held leadership roles at Google,
Motorola Mobility and DARPA, the Defense Advanced Research Projects
Agency. He earned a bachelor's degree in aeronautics
and astronautics from the Massachusetts
Institute of Technology, a master's degree in
aeronautics from the California Institute of
Technology and a juris doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center. He received the
U. S. Secretary of Defense Distinguished Public Service Medal.
Dr. McQuade will remain with UTC through early 2018. "We are
