Ultimate Software (Nasdaq: ULTI), a leading provider of human capital management (HCM) solutions in the cloud, announced today the launch of Xander™, Ultimate's people-first artificial intelligence (AI) platform, and UltiPro Connect, Ultimate’s all-new centralized integration hub designed to simplify and standardize integrations to UltiPro to meet its customers’ evolving business needs. Both technologies were presented at the 2017 HR Technology Conference Show and Exhibition in Las Vegas, Nevada last week.

“Our goal is to create a truly People First experience for our customers, their employees, and our partners which is centered around using technology to positively impact businesses and people,” said Adam Rogers, CTO, Ultimate Software. “We are very excited to be announcing these two significant People First developments that affirm Ultimate’s leadership role in the HCM industry.”

An AI foundation that leverages Natural Language Processing (NLP) and advanced machine learning technology, Xander can analyze both structured data elements along with employee sentiment in real time and deliver insight to help leaders improve organizational outcomes.

“Xander is a portfolio of advanced AI technologies that are as sensitive to emotions as they are to statistics, powering Ultimate’s HCM solutions to intelligently understand, predict, and act on workforce data,” said Armen Berjikly, Ultimate Software's senior director of strategy, workforce intelligence. “With the capability to understand virtually all HCM data, whether it’s a structured data element like tenure or an open-ended text survey response, Xander helps leaders understand not only what their employees are saying, but how they're actually feeling. These insights help leaders accurately gauge employee sentiment in real-time, and make informed decisions while proactively developing, coaching, and engaging their teams.”

Xander's machine learning technology is embedded within UltiPro and is continuously updating and ‘getting smarter’ with experience. With its industry-first NLP capabilities, Xander can instantly analyze open-ended text and decipher more than 100 emotions, 70 workplace themes, and overall sentiment. Managers learn what makes their employees happy, excited, worried, or anxious, and these insights are used to inform UltiPro's predictive and prescriptive capabilities. Xander also uses this feedback to calculate an organization's Emotional Promoter Score (EPS), similar to a Net Promoter Score—but used to gauge overall employee experience rather than customer experience.

UltiPro's unified solution means that Xander can pull from employee feedback as well as detailed HCM data to predict future outcomes and prescribe next steps for leaders—UltiPro’s Leadership Actions is one example. These prescriptive analytics drive powerful, experience-based recommendations, resulting in an improved employee experience, retention, and increased business performance.

“Xander is designed to understand people and the workplace, helping employees do their jobs best, and increasing their satisfaction and engagement,” said Berjikly. “It's an evolving foundational technology at the service of our customers to help them deliver exceptional organizational results.”

In addition to launching Xander at the HR Technology Conference, Ultimate also premiered UltiPro Connect. UltiPro Connect was created to streamline seamless integrations between UltiPro and third-party solutions or services. Engineered to simplify, standardize, and automate imports, exports, and event-based integrations, customers and partners can engage with each other and share knowledge to maximize the value of UltiPro. Customers can access the UltiPro Connect marketplace to browse partner apps and services, filter results to meet their needs, research and select partners, and submit online requests for more information.

Ultimate’s product partners can join the UltiPro Developer Network to publish integrations for customer consumption, minimizing the need for customers to create custom integrations. Registered partners can view Ultimate’s existing APIs and supporting documentation as well as build and test integrations in sandbox environments. Customers can also use UltiPro Connect to build integrations without having to start from scratch, and can leverage a support system in the community for additional help.

“With UltiPro Connect, customers can benefit from reduced time and costs to activate partner integrations, near real-time data export and import, and the potential to activate complementary products. UltiPro Connect helps our customers easily integrate, extend, and configure our solution to meet their unique needs,” said Travis Burke, vice president, corporate development and alliances, Ultimate Software.

“UltiPro Connect has been a collaborative effort between more than 40 partners and our development team to create an incredibly easy-to-use platform that incorporates a centralized open hub for integrations, an online application marketplace, and a partner community, all working together to drive business results. The number of integrations in the UltiPro Connect marketplace, and thus the value to our customers, will continue to grow exponentially as we welcome new partners to the program,” said Burke.
