Poland's central government budget posted a deficit of 16.37 billion zlotys ($5.16 billion) in first two months of 2012, or 46.8% of the full-year target, the finance ministry said Thursday.

Budget revenue totaled PLN46.39 billion, or 15.8% of the full-year target. Of that, value-added and other indirect taxes brought in PLN34.98 billion, 16.5% of the annual plan.

January-February budget expenditures amounted to PLN62.76 billion, or 19.1% of the annual target.

The ministry had the equivalent of EUR6.06 billion in foreign currencies at its disposal at the end of February, it said in a separate statement.
